510 Thread Batteries

A 510 thread battery is the rechargeable power source that screws onto an oil cartridge. The name comes from the threading standard it uses: ten threads cut at 0.5 mm. Because that standard is shared, a 510 battery works with any cartridge built to the same thread.

It is a thread specification, not a brand. Ten threads at 0.5 mm each. It became the common connection for oil cartridges, which is why a 510 battery and a 510 cart from different makers will still fit together.

There is no safe way to do it, and we do not recommend improvising one. Applying power to a cartridge outside the connection it was designed for risks damaging the cart, burning the coil and ruining the oil. A replacement 510 thread battery is inexpensive and is the correct fix.

Disconnect the cartridge first. Wipe the 510 connection thread with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol, then let it dry completely before reattaching a cart. Residue on the center pin is the most common cause of a battery that stops reading a cartridge.

A blinking light is a status code, not always a fault. Most often it signals a low charge, a cartridge drawing too much current, or a short caused by a cart screwed on too tightly. Charge the battery fully first, then reseat the cartridge finger-tight rather than forced.

It depends on capacity and the voltage you run. A higher-capacity battery at a low voltage setting will last considerably longer between charges than a compact model run hot.

Any cartridge built to the 510 thread standard will screw on. Very wide cartridges can sit awkwardly on compact batteries, and concealed models have a fixed internal chamber, so check the cart diameter against the device if you are unsure.

A button-activated battery fires when you press it, which gives you direct control over voltage and preheating. A draw-activated battery fires automatically when you inhale. Nearly every Wulf Mods 510 battery in this collection is button-activated.

Work through the simple causes first: confirm the battery holds charge, unscrew and reseat the cart finger-tight, and clean the 510 connection. An over-tightened cartridge is one of the most common reasons a working battery appears dead.

Store it upright at room temperature, away from direct heat and out of reach of children and pets. Avoid leaving it fully discharged for long stretches, and remove the cartridge if the device will be unused for an extended period.
