In a rush to clean your gear and get back to blowing clouds? Here is a fast breakdown covering the essential steps to keeping your Wulf Recon 4G spotless and ready to rip:

1. Power Off The Recon 4G Battery

First things first: whenever you clean the Wulf Recon 4G (or any high-output dual-battery device), you must always power down your battery completely before touching solvents or tools to the hardware. Attempting to clean a powered-on unit can trigger accidental button presses, short-circuit sensitive internal microchips, or scorch your cotton swabs.

• Locate the power button on the front control panel.
• Press the button 5 times rapidly in succession (5x) within 2 seconds.
• Watch the bright OLED screen power down and go completely dark.
• Press the button once (1x) to verify that nothing illuminates and the battery is dormant.

Powering off your battery prior to cleaning isn’t just a helpful tip, it is an absolute requirement to protect yourself, your vaporizer, and your gear. Always tap that power button 5x first and then press once to double check that things were properly shut down, trust us it’s worth it. 

2. Remove The Magnetic Bottom Base & Both Cartridges

Next, you need to access the concealed cartridge chamber inside your Recon 4G housing.

• Firmly pull the magnetic bottom base cover straight off the chassis to expose the dual cartridge ports.
• Carefully unscrew both 510 threaded cartridges (or single cart if you were running solo) from their respective threaded ports by turning them counterclockwise.
• If a cartridge feels stuck due to hardened oil, do not use excessive force. Gently warm the base between your palms to soften the concentrate before twisting.
• Always place your unscrewed cartridges somewhere upright, clean, and safe. This keeps the oil settled over the wicking holes, prevents glass tanks from rolling off the table, and keeps you from misplacing your favorite strains while cleaning.

Dissembling allows you to get at all of the most important danger areas of your Wulf Recon 4G and lets you carefully clean them without any obstruction. Never attempt to clean your cartridges while still attached to the battery, as this can cause issues and lead to less noticeable results. 

3. Prep Cotton Swabs With High-Grade Isopropyl Alcohol

Take a precision cotton swab or Q-tip and dampen it with high-purity isopropyl alcohol (ISO). Only ever use isopropyl alcohol, as it is by far the most effective and safe solvent to break down stubborn, sticky concentrate reclaim and dense distillate residue that’s on your Wulf Recon 4G.

• Use 91% or 99% ISO: High-grade alcohol dissolves oil on contact and evaporates rapidly without leaving water moisture behind. Avoid 70% rubbing alcohol, which contains 30% water and can damage electrical circuitry.
• Dampen, Don’t Drench: Dip the swab into your alcohol and press it firmly against a clean paper towel. The swab head should be lightly damp to the touch, never dripping wet.
• Protect the OLED Board: A light, controlled dampening delivers maximum cleaning power without squeezing liquid down into the internal battery housing or behind the OLED display screen.

The Dual 510 Thread Ports:

• Thoroughly scrub both female 510 threaded wells on the removable base plate to remove golden oil varnish.

• Leftover alcohol moisture trapped inside dual 510 ports can cause serious short circuits when firing high voltages across two cartridges. Protect your investment by giving it plenty of time to dry!

Never rush this step and always make sure all moisture has evaporated. Liquids and batteries do not mix well together, so make sure to be patient and not to fumble the ball right on the one yard line with your Wulf Recon 4G cleaning efforts. 

7. Reassemble, Power Up & Enjoy Fresh Recon 4G Clouds

With your Recon 4G sparkling clean, 100% dry, and refreshed, it’s time to put your double-barrel beast back together and enjoy the clouds:

1. Screw your favorite 510 cartridges clockwise into the dual ports on the base plate until snug (finger-tight—never overtighten!).
2. Slide the magnetic bottom base back into the body. Remember the magnetic polarity check: the base is keyed to seat in only one direction. If you feel magnetic resistance pushing it apart, simply flip the base 180 degrees and snap it in until it clicks.
3. Press the power button 5 times rapidly (5x) to turn the Recon 4G on and watch the OLED home screen spring to life.
